Open Position Title: Deputy Director

Reports to: Executive Director and Board of Directors.

Supervises: Management (Executive) team, Project/program officers, Branches in Abuja, Anambra and Ebonyi States..

Location: Enugu, Nigeria.

We seek a dynamic, experienced leader to coordinate all activities in the head office and other branch offices. This is a leadership position requiring an experienced senior level professional. It is a full-time, permanent position based in Enugu, Enugu State, Nigeria.

Major Functions :

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Deputy Director has the primary responsibility for overseeing all internal and practical operations of CIRDDOC Nigeria and ensuring that the organization is effective and efficient in achieving its purpose and missions. S/he is responsible for the overall direction, administration and implementation of projects handled by the organization in cooperation with the project managers and under the supervision of the Executive Director and Board of Directors. 

The Deputy Director oversees management (Executive) team in a continuous and collaborative effort to improve the operations of the organization and manages the development and implementation of CIRDDOC Nigeria’s Operational Plan, and works collaboratively with the Executive Director, staff and Board of Directors to build organizational capacity, to achieve the goals of the organization. A key part of this role is the strengthening CIRDDOC Nigeria’s internal systems, procedures, and culture.

Scope of Work:

In collaboration with the Executive Director, the Deputy Director will: 

  • oversee organization’s daily activities
  • collaborate with Executive Team to identify and deliver the required administrative support operations for the organization.
  • oversee all monitoring and evaluation efforts, including developing and monitoring of project budgets to ensure all expenditures comply with donor policies and regulations
  • engage in essential internal leadership activities (strategic planning, donor coordination, administration and human resources).
  • identify best practices and improve internal systems with an eye toward future needs and budget realities.
  • serve as a mentor and coach for a diverse and growing staff.
  • promote a healthy working culture, in which differing opinions and working styles are managed effectively and seen as an opportunity for continual improvement and promoting innovation.
  • monitor, evaluate and analyze all financial statements and budgets, providing report to the Executive Director on a monthly basis 
  • implement all CIRDDOC’s regulations to ensure the organization runs more efficiently
  • Monitor all staff activities, according to existing policies
  • maintain the organizations administrative policies and procedures manual.
  • Serve as a member of the organizations key administrative decision-making and planning body.
  • Collaborate with other management staff to draft and implement an annual administrative budget.
  • Provide direct supervision for managers 
  • Provide direction in the areas of operations and administration, including procurement and financial management procedures.
  • Represent the organization as needed 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications:

Education:

Master’s degree or higher in business administration, public administration, social work, international management, business management or other 
relevant fields.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of extensive experience in project management, planning and implementation, familiarity with donor funded development projects is an asset
  • Strong management skills, including ability to provide strategic guidance, technical oversight, build strong teams, mentor staff, manage budgets and project expenditures
  • Professional and tactful interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a variety of personalities.
  • Experience in networking with partners at all levels (ministry, donors, private sector, NGOs and local community-based organizations)
  • Experience working with or in international and donor or non-governmental organizations with implementation of participatory projects;
  • Strong analytical skills, verbal and written communication skills
  • Skills pertinent to problem-solving and management of crises, conflicts and risk
  • Monitoring and evaluation and financial management skills
  • Understanding of development partnerships, donor strategies, governmental and international relations
  • Experience in managing donor-funded projects/programs
  • Experience in developing, implementing and monitoring and evaluating action plans
  • Demonstrated written, analytical, presentation, reporting and computing skills and familiarity with modern communication systems (internet, worldwide web, email etc.)
  • Thorough understanding of, or ability to quickly learn, the office equipment, recordkeeping systems, management information systems, and related protocols used in the organization.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Open Position Title: Program Manager – Access to Justice and Human Rights

CIRDDOC, a reputable and dynamic not for profit focused on promoting human right, access to justice, democracy and good governance, is seeking for an experienced and strategic Program Manager, to lead our Access to justice and Human Rights Initiatives and growth. 

Job Summary:

The Program Manager will oversee the design, implementation, and monitoring of programs aimed at promoting access to justice, human rights, and rule of law. The successful candidate will have expertise in human rights, social and criminal justice, and program management.

Language Requirements:

  • Grant Management: Manage grants from donors, project management. ensuring compliance and reporting.
  • Team Management: Supervise program staff, providing guidance and support.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Track program progress, conducting assessments and evaluations.
  • Advocacy: Collaborate with stakeholders to advocate for policy changes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of BSc degree in Law, Criminology, or Human Rights. 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in program management, human rights, access to justice and/or criminal justice
  • Proven expertise in program design, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Strong knowledge of criminal justice, human rights frameworks and international law.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience managing donors’ grants from local and international donors, such as USAID, EU, UN.
  • Familiarity with local laws, especially the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA), 2015, Anti-Torture Act 2017 and regulations.
  • Proficiency in use of Ms Word, Teams, Internet and other relevant project management technologies

Job Summary:

The Head of Finance will provide strategic financial leadership, overseeing all financial aspects of the organization, including financial planning, budgeting, accounting, and reporting. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, donor regulations, and NGO best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Financial Planning: Develop and implement financial strategies aligning with the organization’s goals.
  • Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. – Manage financial transactions, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, donor regulations, and NGO best practices. – Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations, Identify and mitigate financial risks. And conduct internal audits.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports to the Executive Director, Board, and donors.

Requirements:

  • BSc degree in Finance, or Accounting.
  • Professional certification (ICAN Certified)

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
  • 5+ years experience in financial management.
  • 3+ years experience in NGO accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with international donors (USAID, EU, UN).
  • Familiarity with financial planning and budgeting tools.
  • Knowledge of local tax laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Experience – Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within an NGO or non-profit sector. Over 2 years practical experience with evidence of results may substitute for a Bachelor degree 
  • Skills – Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, proficiency in social media platforms, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Languages – Fluency in English and proficiency in other relevant languages is an advantage.
