CIRDDOC Celebrates National Honour Conferred on Our Founding Executive Director, Late Princess Oby Nwankwo.

We are filled with pride and deep gratitude as the late Princess Obiageli Theodora Nwankwo, Founding Executive Director of CIRDDOC Nigeria, has been posthumously conferred with a National Honour by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu alongside 100 distinguished Nigerians during the 2025 Democracy Day celebrations.

Princess Oby Nwankwo was a trailblazing human rights advocate, an international legal expert, and a fearless voice for women’s rights in Nigeria and around the world. Her legacy lives on through the groundbreaking work she led at CIRDDOC, where she pioneered legal reforms, promoted gender equality, and empowered the most vulnerable members of society.

This national recognition is evident in her extraordinary contributions to democracy, justice, and development in Nigeria.

Her life, work, and memory continue to inspire us daily.

Congratulations, Princess Oby. Your legacy lives on.
